Wire mesh / welded screens

Warehouse and delivery programme

Welded screens

Due to their high mechanical stability, welded screens, like crimp screens, are popular divider systems. Thanks to the variety with regards to mesh width and wire thickness, and the selection of different materials and surfaces, they are the best-sellers among protective gratings. In the production of welded screens, we use smooth pulled wires that are precisely and permanently spot-welded at the intersections, at right angles . Numerous fixed nodes are strung together, making the welded screens tremendously stable and extremely durable. The regular succession of nodes ensures that applied forces are distributed evenly; this results in the welded screen’s typical inherent rigidity.

Production programme

  • Steel bright
  • galvanised wire
  • aluminised galvanised wire
  • Stainless steel 1,4301 / 1,4306 / 1,4571
  • Special qualities upon request

  • Types: square or rectangular mesh
  • Borders: open or closed (with border wire) mesh, design in mesh sizes: 20×20 mm to 150x150mm
  • Partition (mesh width; distance from wire centre to next wire centre): The measure of the light widths (the opening) is calculated as follows: Partition minus wire diameter
  • Wire thickness: 2 – 8 mm
  • Format sizes: upon request, and if there is sufficient demand, we offer special and fixed formats (e.g. in steel: max. wire thickness 8.0 mm, max. sheet size 6,000 x 2,000 mm), special mesh flow, different wire thickness and length within a mat.

Welded screens by ProMetall

We own Austria’s largest warehouse range for welded screens. As a result of the mats’ high stability and flexibility during welding and coating, and its bending and cutting capacity, we are able to provide you with the perfect mat for varying applications. We offer bright steel, hot-tip galvanised steel, and stainless steel. The gratings are delivered in the shape of mats (in case of smaller meshes also as coils).

Standards & tolerances

  • Manufacturing tolerances in accordance with DIN ISO 2768-1; or based on DIN-standards ISO 9044 (industrial wire gauze) and ISO 4783
  • Surfaces: subsequently galvanised or hot-tip galvanised steel, subsequently powder-coated, electro-polished or chromium-plated stainless steel gratings
  • Subsequent processing: Cutting, edging, notching, punching and strengthening of the surface by means of additional wire / flat wire / profiles possible upon request
